Garlic seems like it should be good for everyone, right?

But this is a misconception because Garlic is not good for dogs.

Trace amounts of garlic is OK for dogs but their systems cannot metabolize the chemical in Garlic that makes us so healthy.  Garlic can cause renal failure in dogs.  A dog’s body (liver and kidneys) cannot metabolize garlic and onions so it builds up in the dog’s body and will eventually destroy the liver.  Often times the liver becomes so diseased that cancer will develop.

So too much garlic and onions will destroy the kidneys and your dog just may die from renal failure.

Just remember that if you make a nice dinner or roast chicken with garlic and or onions, don’t feed it to your dog.

It’s just not good for them.

Be careful with garlic and onions, they can be harmful to dogs and the cumulative effects of onions is dangerous and can even cause death if enough is ingested
